Consider succession planting, sowing seeds every 6 weeks during the growing season for a continuous supply of fresh basil. Regularly pinch or prune stems just above a node to encourage bushier growth and prevent flowering, extending harvest time.

Basil grows fast; seedlings sprout in 5-10 days and are harvest-ready in 3-4 weeks. Grow multiple basil varieties together, but be aware of cross-pollination if saving seeds and size differences between varieties.
