Headline: KV2 Sound System Chosen for Immersive Art Exhibition in Ancient Temple of San Miguel, Cuenca

In the heart of Cuenca, Spain, the ancient temple of San Miguel now plays host to an extraordinary digital immersive experience known as Luz Cuenca. This artistic expression of the city's cultural wealth combines artistic lighting techniques, 2D and 3D projection mapping, and a dramatic orchestral music score, all powered by a state-of-the-art sound system.

The sound system chosen for Luz Cuenca is the KV2, a brand renowned for its ability to effectively and uniformly reproduce sound in space at low volumes, prioritising quality over pressure. The system was specified by AV experts Fluge, who were impressed by the KV2's capabilities for delivering high-fidelity sound reproduction, even at low Sound Pressure Levels (SPL).

The sound system for Luz Cuenca comprises 12 EX26 two-way active loudspeaker systems, evenly distributed along the walls of the nave, with additional EX26s for the upper gallery level. For low end reinforcement, 8 EX1.5 subwoofers have been strategically placed. Two EX26 loudspeakers reinforce the upper gallery level, and eight EX1.5 subwoofers provide low end reinforcement, with pairs either side of the altar and additional pairs left and right slightly further down the nave.

The EX26 loudspeaker system, in particular, is praised for its wide, even coverage, superb vocal intelligibility, and high-quality musical reproduction, thanks to its 100x100-degree horn. Custom white housings were designed for the loudspeakers to minimise interference with the video mapping.

The audio signals for each loudspeaker in Luz Cuenca are sent independently and processed through Dante, Watchout 6 video playback system, and NST Audio DSP matrices. Ibercover Studio, who were in charge of production and content design for Luz Cuenca, turned to Fluge for the sound system design and supply.

The KV2 sound system is not only capable of delivering high-quality sound reproduction at low SPLs but can also handle higher SPLs successfully. This versatility makes it an ideal choice for various events with more demanding level requirements, including those with immersive experiences like Luz Cuenca.

While the exact brand and model of the KV2 sound system used in Luz Cuenca cannot be confirmed without specific details from the exhibition, it is clear that the choice was made with precision, prioritising audio control at low SPLs and high-fidelity sound reproduction to ensure an unparalleled immersive experience for visitors.

The KV2 sound system, showcased at the Luz Cuenca event in the ancient temple of San Miguel, is a prime example of how interior-design can greatly enhance lifestyle events, as its custom white housings minimise interference with the video mapping. This versatile sound system, known for its ability to deliver high-quality sound at low SPLs, is also suitable for home-and-garden settings that host immersive events, featuring events where both low-level and high-level sound reproduction are important, such as art exhibitions, movie nights, or concert performances.
