Charity auction raises €6,550 for BürgerStiftung in Düsseldorf

In the heart of Düsseldorf, the Wagenbauhalle played host to a vibrant charity auction organised by the company Traber. Over 300 attendees gathered to bid on over 60 items, with the top bid of the night reaching an impressive 700 euros for a unique opportunity - a ride on the Rosenmontagswagen of the company in 2026, generously donated by the Postcode Lottery.

The auction was chaired by Marion Drösser, the current chairwoman of the Citizens' Foundation, with Sabine Tüllmann, a previous chairwoman, also in attendance. The event raised a total of 6,550 euros for the foundation, with funds coming from various items such as a vase adorned with birds and a playful rabbit pair.

One of the most anticipated items was a painting of Mane Meckenstock, portrayed as Jan Wellem. Despite limited information available about Mane Meckenstock and his connection to the charity auction, the painting was a popular bid among the attendees.

A highlight of the auction was the offering of Doris Edelburg's homemade egg liqueur, which yielded a profit of 390 euros for the foundation. The unique concoction has become a staple at Mane Meckenstock auctions.

Some items that didn't find buyers during the live auction will still be offered online, providing another opportunity for bidding. The new owners of the two gold-colored LED lamp figurines, which fetched over 200 euros each, are now proud new lamp owners, while the Citizens' Foundation also reaps the benefits of the sale.

The new owner of the rabbit pair has plans to gift it for Easter, while the owner of the vase with birds intends to keep it as a cherished addition to their home.

As the evening came to a close, the Citizens' Foundation could look back on a successful event, with funds raised to support their cause and the community of Düsseldorf. The auction served as a testament to the power of community spirit and the generosity of those who attended.
