The 4th Festival Cultural Latinoamericano Dresden: A Celebration of Latin American Cultures
The vibrant city of Dresden played host to the 4th Festival Cultural Latinoamericano Dresden from August 7 to 10, 2025. The festival, organised by the Asociación Cultural Iberoamericana, was held at Hanse 3 on its opening day and moved to the neighbouring Blaue Fabrik on Eisenbahnstraße for the remainder of the event.
The festival offered a colourful program, attracting over 2,000 visitors, that included theatre, dance, workshops, literature, politics, and circus activities for children. The event was open to people of all ages, making it a family-friendly affair.
The festival kicked off on Thursday, August 7, at Hanse 3, with live salsa music from Sazón Montuno - Salsa en Dresden. The following days saw a variety of performances, workshops, and events.
On Saturday, August 9, the schedule was packed with exciting activities. At 1:00 PM, the Kakao Ceremony with Art Consciousness took place, followed by Our Latin American Voices through Reading (Readings with MLATTS) at 3:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, a Family Craft Workshop with Wendy Fernández was held, and at 5:10 PM, Capoeira Colombia International with Edinson conducted a Workshop.
The evening saw the Puppet Concert, one of the festival's highlights, and the Latin Party with DJ Marquinho, scheduled for 12:00 AM. At 6:00 PM, Latinsoul (Dance Group) performed, and at 6:45 PM, Ayllujata gave a Concert, featuring Andean Cumbias, Huayno, Candombe, Tinku, and more.
La Chispa (Theater Group) presented a performance in Spanish at 8:00 PM, and Salsa Night: Salsonora + Sazón Montuno took place at 9:45 PM. The festival concluded with a lively, loud, and joyful atmosphere, making it a memorable event for all who attended.
An exhibition of works by Fernando Oramas accompanied the festival, and food and drinks were provided by Empanadas, El Cubanito, Martínez, Nibs Cacao, Mesa Peruana, Pau Pau, Mesa Mexicana, Perritos Calientes, Mesa Venezolana, and Mesa Dominicana.
