Brunswick Launches Bike Leasing Scheme for Employees

The city of Brunswick has introduced a new bike leasing scheme for its employees, offering high-quality bicycles, e-bikes, and cargo bikes for commuting, business trips, and leisure. Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum expressed delight in presenting this option, with the lease subsidized by the city and an extensive insurance and maintenance package included.

The program, provided by 'Lease a Bike', a subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, allows employees to lease bicycles for a three-year period. The lease payment is deducted from the gross salary in a tax-advantageous manner through salary conversion. Anthony Bandmann, a board member of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, praised the city's adoption of the service. Employees can choose from a wide range of bicycles, e-bikes, and cargo bikes, with all types and brands available, provided they are offered by specialist retailers or online vendors.

The city administration of Brunswick has implemented this bike leasing program to encourage sustainable and healthy commuting among its employees. The scheme offers a convenient and cost-effective way to use high-quality bicycles, with the lease subsidized by the city and a comprehensive insurance and maintenance package included.
