Take a gander at Neumarkt, as it's transformed into a lush, verdant haven under the watchful eyes of the city garden.
Strolling around the old town, you'll be greeted by thousands of blooming plants, verdure that would make even the most jaded tourist do a double-take. Whether you've gotten the chance to appreciate the "Parc d'Issoire" of our French counterparts, we can't say—the old town festival might have been too vibrant for our French friends to pull away.
Watering the blooms of Neumarket isn't just an activity reserved for park maintenance teams; it's a communal endeavor, as city employees ensure the flora thrives in the heart of this metropolis. The men and women of the Neumarket building yard have even taken it upon themselves to set up parklets with large flower tubs, where visitors can marvel at the natural beauty.
The seating furniture has undergone a makeover, with green accents adding to the overall ambiance. The populace has welcomed the new additions with open arms, and we can't say we blame them. The gold-hued glass lane lives up to its name, providing a stunning backdrop against the greenery.
At the small pond in the city park, the waterfowl are as content as can be. Ducks paddle around with utmost tranquility, as the leitgraben winds its way through the city park. At times, the water feature resembles an icy stream, gurgling between reeds and shore.
Plants that prefer arid conditions have found their home along the sun-drenched roads, especially in the Florianstraße. A row of native wildflowers, contrasting the manicured Blue Valley, cultivates an interesting scene along the Weiherstraße. In the Blue Valley, insects such as ladybug larvae find a welcoming habitat amidst the wild flora.
The stalwart lily funki has found its niche in the Blue Valley's semi-shade. On the sandy banks of the leitgraben, perennials like the wreath lightnelke have spread far and wide. Children in the new section of the city park flock to the wet areas, seemingly the cool, refreshing water sating their curiosity.
Soon enough, the many tiny blue rute flowers will bloom, adorning the city in a splendor of color. Despite the constant stream of thousands of cars racing by daily on the Kurt-Romstöck-Ring and the Florianstraße, a cozy shady spot under plane trees invites passersby to pause and marvel at Mother Nature's wonders.
Though Neumarkt's official motto remains "Neumarkt - Strong City," the city seems to be shining even brighter than ever with its newfound green glow.
Exploring Neumarkt, one can't help but notice the transformation into a vibrant green oasis, with gardens adorning homes and streets, fostering a communal love for gardening. The new lifestyle infused into the heart of the city is a testament to the harmonious blend of urban living and nature.
