In Bottrop, Germany, the Fire Department was alerted to an incident at a multi-family house on Schützenstrasse, following the activation of a smoke alarm at around 16:55. Upon arrival, the fire department checked the affected apartment.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that one resident had already extinguished the fire independently before their arrival. The affected individual was attended to by the emergency services but did not require hospital admission. The name of the resident was not disclosed in the available reports.

The fire department proceeded to ventilate the staircase and further checked the apartments in the building to ensure the safety of all residents. Fortunately, no other issues were found.

The presumed cause of the fire was a flammable object on the hot stove.
