Agricultural company Pasona set to unveil agritourism resort on Awaji Island.
In the heart of Hyogo Prefecture's picturesque Awaji Island, Pasona Group has opened its first accommodation facility focusing on farming experiences - the Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa. The facility, which held its grand opening on July 17, offers a unique blend of sustainability, local culture, and innovative activities.
The resort, designed by nine architects, including Sosuke Fujimoto, known for designing the Grand Ring, a symbol of the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka, features 11 separate villas, each with its own field for farming activities. Each villa is built with natural materials, creating a harmonious blend of modern architecture and the island's natural beauty.
The starting accommodation fee for an overnight stay at Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa is 121,000 yen. Pasona Group is considering offering longer stays, including a month-long option, in the future.
Visitors can expect a rich array of experiences, from seasonal farming activities such as sowing and harvesting, to cultural events, workshops, and community interactions that allow guests to engage with the island's unique culture and traditions. The resort aims to deliver consistent high-quality experiences, with personalized attention, cleanliness, and a wide range of amenities such as spa services, dining options, and recreational activities.
To retain long-term interest, the resort could offer innovative programs or seasonal activities that cater to different interests and age groups, ensuring there’s always something new to explore. Building a sense of community among visitors is also crucial, and this might involve hosting events or encouraging guest participation in local initiatives.
A strong online presence is essential for attracting visitors. Regular updates on social media and the resort's website about new offerings, events, and experiences can keep potential guests engaged. Collaborating with local businesses and organizations can enhance the visitor experience and attract repeat visitors.
Managing seasonal fluctuations in visitor numbers can be a challenge. Offering seasonal packages or themed experiences can help maintain interest throughout the year. Ensuring that the resort's operations minimize environmental impact while maintaining visitor expectations will be crucial for long-term success.
Pasona Group anticipates that Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa will attract approximately 15,000 visitors by the end of fiscal 2028. With its unique blend of sustainable agricultural experiences, local culture, and innovative programming, the resort is poised to become a must-visit destination for nature lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike.
Visitors can participate in various lifestyle activities, such as gardening in their personal farming fields, as part of the unique home-and-garden experiences offered at Hatake no Resort Sansan Villa. The resort's vision includes catering to diverse interests by regularly introducing innovative programs and seasonal activities, fostering a vibrant community among guests, and maintaining a strong online presence to engage potential visitors.
