Hunworth Mill: A Stunning Grade II* Listed Watermill Up for Sale

Nestled in the picturesque Glaven Valley of north Norfolk, Hunworth Mill is a converted mid-18th-century watermill that has been extensively modernized by its current owners. The property, which boasts six bedrooms and more than 4,900 sq ft of accommodation, is now available for sale via Strutt & Parker, with an asking price of £3.25m.

The mill house, originally converted in the 1980s with great care to preserve and enhance its original features, boasts an entrance hall, dining room, sitting room, sun room, and a bespoke kitchen/breakfast room by Naked Kitchens. The attic and mezzanine space offer potential for further accommodation.

The gardens at Hunworth Mill are a significant part of its charm and appeal. Arne Maynard, a renowned garden designer, has crafted exquisite landscaping along the River Glaven on about 3¾ acres. The gardens are renowned for their series of green "rooms"—distinct garden areas conceptually separated to create a tranquil and varied experience. The grounds include formal elements and naturalistic settings, typical of Maynard's respected style, which has won Chelsea Flower Show gold medals and "Best in Show" awards.

The guest cottage at Hunworth Mill has lapsed planning consent to extend by converting more of the adjoining outbuildings.

Hunworth Mill has a rich history and has even served as a setting for the film "The Kingfisher" starring Wendy Hiller and Rex Harrison in 1982. The property was almost derelict when it was sold in 1974 but still had largely intact mill workings.

Located just 2.5 miles from Holt, 14 miles from Holkham, and 20 miles from Burnham Market, Hunworth Mill offers a serene retreat in a scenic area of north Norfolk. High-resolution images of the property and its gardens can be obtained by contacting Tom Goodley at Strutt & Parker, Norwich, who oversees the sale of Hunworth Mill.
